Lift your Heels

As I’ve thought about what to share in this medium, and the frequency…it’s hard to determine. Some weeks I could write something daily, and other weeks, I get stuck. This week, my brain is somewhere else and my writing is focused on more technical things. For that reason, I’m reaching for something in my archivedContinue reading “Lift your Heels”

The Question

We sat for two hours getting to know each other. Couple cocktails, random-forced chatter at first, and then laughter eventually. He peppered me with questions– I think he was nervous. I heard footsteps running my direction and turned to see her—she was crying, sprinting, followed by a crew of kids on bicycles chasingContinue reading “My little plastic bat”

Erasing Death

SPLAT! She giggled, and took wad after wad of toilet paper, dipping it into the bowl of water and throwing it furiously at the poster-board. 10-20-30 times maybe, she hurled the dripping wads of paper towards her enemy. The more she did it, the more energized she got. Her mom cheered her on from behind.Continue reading “Erasing Death”
